Welcome to the actor series! Today’s actor is Aaron Eckhart!
Small Bio: He was born, Aaron Edward Eckhart on March 12, 1968, in Cupertino, California. He is the youngest of three brothers. For a while, Aaron and his family lived in England, Sydney, and even Hawaii. While there, he learned how to surf. He was a film major in Brigham Young University he graduated in 1994. While there, he had been in a few of Neil LaBute's plays, which eventually led to his first film role.
That first film was In the Company of Men. Followed closely by his role in Any Given Sunday and in Erin Brockovich. It was in Brockovich, where he became a major heartthrob as a man who was supportive and loving to a strong woman. Close after those films he was The Pledge and The Missing. Some may also remember that he had a small role on the Fraiser show.
However, it was in 2006, he earned praise for Thank You for Smoking, where he earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor. Later that same year, he was in The Black Dahlia, No Reservations, Towelhead, and Meet Bill. Currently his most talked about role is as Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight.
Right now Aaron seems to be on top with lots of dynamic roles. He seems to be filled with opportunities, some independent and some that are much bigger. It will be great to see what he does next.

Final Thoughts: His role in The Black Dahlia was what first got my attention. He played a good cop but his role in No Reservations, is what really grabbed me. He played a fantastic counter part to Catherine Zeta Jones and Abigail Breslin. He was so charismatic and charming in the role. Not long after that, I saw him in with Conversations with Other Women. Aaron starred opposite Helena Bonham Carter; it was rather interesting filming style that was done in the film. The use of flashbacks juxtaposed to the present moments in the film made for a very interesting with the development of the characters the two of them played. Finally, I saw him in The Dark Knight. It was by one of the strongest of his roles that I had seen so far. How he changed as the character evolved was just amazing. I was bit of a fan of his before that but now...he has sold me. I am eager to see |
